Reminder For Action Rally teams from Sabah and Labuan

To those Lions In Action Rally teams from Sabah and Labuan kindly be reminded that you need to bring along your passport( yourself and your kids) as we need to travel through Brunei and validity more than 6 months. And if you are driving a company car, please get a letter of authorisation with company letter head and company stamp signed by a director other than yourself. If you are driving somebody else car please get a letter of autorisation to use his/her car from that person even it belong to your spouse plus a photo copy of the owner's Identity Card and photo copy of the car registration card. And your car must not be heavily tinted.( Brunei authority can be very particular on tinted glass) Heavily modified vehicles are not encourage to join in the rally.

Kindly do not bring in any liquor into and through Brunei unless you are willing to declare every single bottle of it be it full or even half a bottle . To all cabinet officers please bring along your formal suit and vest for the dinner in Miri.To all others Lions please bring your Lion Vest. As we are on a road safety campaign please abide by the traffic rules and laws especially no drinking alcohol while driving. Kindly fill up your tank while in Sarawak as not every Petrol Station in Brunei allow foreign cars to refuel their vehicles.

Please follow the convoy system while travelling on the Action Rally to avoid delay in arriving to our destination. We will brief you all before flag off.

Gentle Reminder for all involve in the Rally

Dear All,

We have about six more weeks before our flag off day for the Lions In Actions Rally. I presume that all of us are quite exited about it. As for me I am very happy to note that most of the Lions are getting busy in their respective areas be it flag off, stopover lunch, dinner fellowship or the grand fellowship night in Miri.

I am here just to remind you in case you have missed the instruction that I posted earlier. I am yet to receive news from the in-charge for Kuching and Kota Kinabalu flag off points.

We want to know how many vehicles and Lions are participating in this event. Similarly for all the other flag off stations, we need the figures above for the rally’s night stopover stations to organized accommodation and dinner function. For Sibu, Bintulu, Keningau and Limbang please kindly give us your accommodation arrangement and dinner fellowship detail as soon as possible. ( Name of hotel and room rate)

We know it is quite difficult for you all to arrange the above as most of the Lions still unable to decide on the number of participants and vehicles. So please kindly communicate with each other or with me to facilitate the arrangement.

All concern kindly make your own banner with the simple Rally Logo I gave earlier( will give again to you all). You may print your own T shirt car stickers with the similar logo. As for the car stickers kindly indicate from which team you are A1, A2, A3, B1, B2 or at least the name of your club and with running number if possible. As for the ‘T’ shirt DG prefer white ‘T’ shirt with apple green collar and logo around the pocket area for uniformity.

If you would like to participate in the road safety campaign, you can either print your own campaign stickers or get somebody to print in buck and purchase from them which will be much cheaper.

Please kindly arrange your own police permits for the convoy if necessary.

Please also get people from the media to join in as one of the goals is publicity for the Lions Club.

I have prepared a simple enrolment form for those participating in convoy. You can use it if it is useful to you.(get the attachment of the form and Logo from your RC, ZC or DC)

A simple design was suggested by our DG for use in our T shirts, Banners or Caps etc.

Region 2 proposed Lions Rally Plan of Action

a) LC of Kapit flag off after press release express to Sibu. All Sibu Lions, Leos & FOL lead by me flag off from Sibu at 12:30 pm. We drive to Sarikei welcome our honorable DG Karen & Region 1 Eric Tan B1 team.

b) LC of Sarikei organize Region 2 Sight 1st project by handling spectacles to the needy students. Flag off to join Bintangor.

c) LC of Bintangor organise Region 2 Drug Awareness Sign board project. Flag off from Bintangor to Sibu to have our fellowship.

d) Region 1 & Region 2 fellowship organize by me at Swansea Restaurant at 7:30pm.

e) At 8:00 am Region 2 Road Safety Campaign organize by LC of Sibu Host & Mandarin at Central Road.

f) At 10:00 am Region 2 Environmental Tree Planting project at SJK Tiong Hin organize by LC of Sibu Berjaya and Pahlawan. Follow by flag off to Bintulu.

The above-mentioned projects & activities was proposed after our Region 2 meeting. We will keep you all inform if any further amendment has being made. Or if there is any better suggestions towards this matter please don't hesitate to share or let me know. I'll deeply appreciate on your any suggestion or comment for our District 308-A2 on the 'Move To Grow' with this meaningful projects on enhancing membership drive and create public awareness by our Lionistic spirit. The objectives are:

宗旨如下:


1. Foster closer tie between the Lions members and the Community in District 308-A2

2. Foster closer relationship, mutual understanding and cooperation among Lions in the District.

3. Create public awareness of Lionism, and ‘positive' Lions image.

The first Lions In Action Rally meeting was held in Keningau Mandarin Club house on the 22ndJuly 2009. The list of the working committee was endorsed and another member from the Lions Club Tenom Host Michael Joseph is added in the committee. The organizing chairman brief the committee on the whole program and informed that the venue for the final destination will be in East Wood Golf Club Resort Miri. The next meeting will be in Tenom Host Club house on the 6th August 2009 8:00pm.
